How do you schedule private tutoring lessons?You pick the best days and the times that work for you and we will work extensively to meet your tutoring request. You also choose the length of time for the tutoring session. Keep in mind the following considerations as they will influence your decision. If tutoring is for one subject generally an hour will suffice. If your daughter or son needs remedial tutoring or study skills tutoring then you may need longer sessions and more sessions per week. If you want to work on more than one subject and depending on your level 1.5 hours is generally the norm. Our rate remains the same for all situations.
We also provide one-time sessions to help students study for exams, work on projects or prepare for presentations.Is there a minimum number of hours for home tutoring with PD Plus?
There is no minimum hourly requirement with PD Plus. However, we do suggest at least one hour per week.
The tutoring fee is $36.00 per hour for all subjects and levels. The tutor provides a copy of our student form to you at the end of each calendar month. This is your combined invoice/receipt and your progress report. You write a cheque made payable to PD Plus and give it to your tutor, who submits it to the office on your behalf. Payment is by cheque only.
Does the fee for home tutoring include materials?
Yes and no, if just a few things need to be copied then it is covered. However, if the tutor needs to do a lot of extra copying of work sheets or needs to purchase workbooks, etc., then there is a reimbursement fee. That is, our tutor will ask your permission to do this extra purchasing. Then it is your responsibility to reimburse her or him when you receive the receipts.
Yes. We are very confident with the quality of tutors sent to you. We pride ourselves in our level of expertise, and our caring and staff provide outstanding service. Should you experience any difficulties with your tutor for any reason, we will do our absolute best to solve the problem with you and the tutor. If we cannot come to a resolution that satisfies you and you wish to change tutors, we will accommodate your request as soon as possible.
At PD Plus we are proud to say that we value and encourage receiving feedback from our clients regarding our business practices, and particularly our tutors. We follow up immediately after the first session and conduct customer satisfaction surveys to ensure our tutors are doing the best they can. It is part of our philosophy to remain open-minded so that we can continue to improve our service to you – our customers.
What is the cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is based on care and respect. Maintaining a schedule is very important to us because we know that by providing consistency to our students we will be adding to their success.
Additionally, we have made a commitment to our tutors that they will have a tutoring position during the time slot that they have set aside specifically for you. When they make a commitment to accepting this tutoring position with your family they are turning away other students in that time-slot. Therefore, we ask our customers to adhere to the schedule.
We accept cancellations from parents only.
Of course we understand that circumstances happen beyond our control (such as illness or emergencies) and you will not always be able to cancel with 24 hours notice. However, we ask that you do your best.
